On Tuesday 21st November we spent the morning connecting with civil society organisations and charities in east London at Meet the Funders: Small Muslim Charities. The aim of the event was to introduce funders and small charities to each other, explore our shared aims and discuss funding methods and challenges. We also had the opportunity to learn from the other funders present. These included representatives from East End Community Foundation, Tudor Trust, London Marathon Charitable Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, BBC Children in Need, Wolfson Foundation and Clothworkers’ Foundation.
Our Grants Officer, Saadia Mahmood, laid out Aziz Foundation’s priority areas and funding objectives to potential grantees, who in turn talked to us about their projects and the impact they have on various communities. We are always keen to hear from charities about their projects, especially those that relate to our funding objectives. If you have a project you would like to discuss, please email enquiries@azizfoundation.org.uk.
We are thankful to the organisers, All Ways Network, for inviting us to speak and to all the attendees who shared their experiences with us.
