Leadership Support Scheme – What Makes An Ethical Leader?

16 January

As part of our Leadership Support Scheme, our scholars attended their third leadership training day. For this session, the topic covered was Leadership & Ethics. The participants were challenged on their assumptions about what makes an ethical leader and and what makes an ethical organisation, The content drew on both contemporary examples and those from the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions. The day also covered Kantian, Utilitarian, and Shariah perspectives on ethics, and the scholars were given a number of ethical dilemmas to think through in groups.

The Leadership Support Scheme is a year of workshops and training for our scholarship recipients. During their postgraduate studies, scholars are expected to complete leadership training and use the access they are given to industry leaders to build their own networks and create meaningful projects which address the needs of their communities.
