The Aziz Foundation was proud to take part in the inaugural Our Mosques Our Future conference, organised by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB). The event brought together hundreds of delegates to explore the challenges and opportunities facing mosques in Britain today. The one-day conference was held at the beautiful British Muslim Heritage Centre in Manchester and included several Ted-style talks, workshops and a key note from the Aziz Foundation Professor of Islamic Studies, Sh.Abdal Hakim Murad.
The BIMA awards showcased excellent mosque initiatives in 6 different categories (Education. Youth, New Muslims, Outreach, Women and Facilities management) and awarded the winners.
The Visit My Mosque 2019 event was also launched, with the date for this national open day announced as March 3, 2019.
MCB also unveiled the launch of their beta Best Practice Portal, containing free downloadable resources designed to help mosques
Finally, it was announced that this conference would be a regular feature in the yearly calendar, enabling hundreds of mosque leaders to network and share ideas and best practice.
