Aziz Foundation hosts Induction Day for new scholarship cohort
23 September 2025

We were delighted to host our virtual Induction Day for The Aziz Foundation’s 2025 Scholar Cohort – moved online at the last minute due to strike action on the tube.
The day began with a warm welcome from our Trustee, Rahima Aziz BEM, who has been on the Board since 2020. As the newest and youngest member of the Foundation’s trustees, Rahima brings the vigour of youth and the priorities of her generation, shaping and expanding the Foundation’s vision while being deeply engaged in its day-to-day work.
Scholars then heard directly from The Aziz Foundation team about our range of programmes, from scholarships to internships, before taking part in an icebreaker to get to know one another.
We were also joined by fantastic speakers across two panels:
- University panel & Q&A with Dr Tom Weir (De Montfort University), Dr Sarah Mohammad-Qureshi (The University of Law), and Zaid Altikriti (SOAS Students' Union).
- Alumni panel & Q&A with Irfan Suleman (Policy), Farah Ghouri (Media/Journalism), Nazrin Ysmailova (Law), and Raheel Khan (Arts & Culture).
The day closed with an inspiring message from our Founder and Chair, Asif Aziz – entrepreneur, philanthropist, and winner of the 2022 Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohammed Leadership Award – who shared words of encouragement as our new scholars embark on their journeys.
We look forward to following the progress of our 2025 cohort as they begin their studies and continue to grow as future leaders in their fields.
