Tasneem Abdur-rashid
Tasneem Abdur-Rashid is a British Bengali author from London and the writer of three adult novels. Her Carnegie-nominated YA debut, Odd Girl Out, was been shortlisted for the Warwickshire Teen Book Award, the Redbridge Book Awards, and the Branford Boase Award, among others. It has also been selected for the 2026 Read for Empathy Collection.
Tasneem's debut rom-com, Finding Mr Perfectly Fine, was published by Bonnier Books UK / Zaffre in 2022 as part of a two-book deal, followed by The Thirty Before Thirty List, which was longlisted for the Jhalak Prize for Fiction in 2024 and the Diverse Book Awards in 2025. Her accolades recently saw her serve as a judge for the prestigious London Writers Awards.
Tasneem is also the co-host of the award-winning podcast Not Another Mum Pod, which amplifies voices often left unheard. In 2023, she received the SHE Award for Arts and Culture for her work championing underrepresented communities.
In addition to her career as an author, Tasneem has worked across media, PR, and communications for over twenty years across the UK and the Middle East, and holds both a BA and an MA in Creative Writing.
