MA CURATING CULTURES, SOAS UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
I am a History of Art graduate from the Courtauld Institute of Art and will be studying the MA Curating Cultures at SOAS University of London. I have always loved museums, art and history, but rarely saw people from backgrounds like mine represented within the sector.
My interests focus on how museums and exhibitions shape ideas about British Muslim history, identity and belonging. Through the course, I hope to strengthen my practical curatorial skills, deepen my understanding of decolonial approaches and gain experience in exhibition-making.
My ambition is to become a curator and, eventually, a leader within the museum and heritage sector, creating meaningful projects that challenge stereotypes, improve representation and help more young British Muslims feel that arts and culture are spaces in which they belong.
