Nasim Ali

I am pursuing an MPhil in International Relations at Jesus College, Oxford, having previously studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at King’s College London. I hope to develop the analytical and research skills needed to understand complex issues affecting our communities and public institutions, both locally and in their wider global context.

Before university, I worked in socio-economic research, analysing how major development proposals affected local communities. Throughout my studies, I have created spaces for students to engage with political, ethical and social questions, and have supported efforts to advance the recognition and preservation of the Sylheti language within universities.

I am also developing a multilingual platform to help non-English-speaking parents access school communications and digital-safety information. As an Aziz Foundation Scholar, I hope to build on these experiences and contribute to more accessible, representative and effective institutions, and I look forward to engaging closely with the wider scholar network.
