Abid Hussain

Abid Hussain is Director, Diversity at Arts Council England with responsibility for leading the organisation’s work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to deliver more equitable access to creativity and culture. He is responsible for delivery of the Arts Council’s equality objectives and equality action plan.

Abid has extensive experience of working with cultural agencies, government and academia internationally and has contributed to several international conferences and academic texts and journals in his field of expertise.

He is the programme lead for All In; a UK and Ireland wide scheme established to improve access to arts and cultural events for disabled people developed in partnership with Arts Council of Ireland, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Arts Council of Wales, and Creative Scotland.

He is an alumnus of the U.S International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) and the Salzburg Global Seminar and has been involved in several strategic initiatives to encourage greater engagement in arts and cultural activity across faith communities both across the UK and Internationally.
