MA Ethnographic and Documentary Film, UCL: Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences

I am a Syrian documentary filmmaker and development practitioner whose work explores the intersecting legacies of displacement, conflict, and environmental justice.

Grounded in personal experience and advocacy for human rights, my films focus on the lives of communities navigating the effects of war, displacement, and marginalisation. I hold a BA in Development Studies from SOAS University of London and am currently pursuing an MA in Ethnographic and Documentary Film at University College London with the generous support of the Aziz Foundation.

I hope to continue working on advocating for human rights by creating films that highlight the struggles of marginalised communities. I wish to build a platform that supports emerging filmmakers from underrepresented backgrounds, fostering a space where film becomes a tool for justice, empathy, and cross-cultural dialogue.
