Aziz Foundation Announces Preferred Partnership with King’s College London

The Aziz Foundation is pleased to announce that it will be offering Master’s scholarships at Kings College London for exceptional students, from a British Muslim background, looking to progress onto postgraduate study.

King’s College London has become one of the Foundation’s Preferred Partners, having demonstrated their commitment in extending Widening Participation to the postgraduate level and closing the awarding gap for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) students.

King’s joined the Race Equality Charter in 2017 and was awarded a second Bronze Charter Mark in November 2020. As part of its action plan, the university has dedicated itself to eradicating all forms of learner inequality, with a commitment to close the awarding gap between white and BME students by 2024/25. Furthermore, King’s College London encourages all staff to undertake ‘Diversity Matters’ training to ensure the minimisation of conscious and unconscious bias. The institution has also committed itself to reviewing its Student Support Services to ensure better engagement with its BME students and, in 2018, it adopted the definition of Islamophobia proposed by Dr Chris Allen, a prominent researcher on Islamophobia at the University of Birmingham.
