The Aziz Foundation continues to support aspiring British Muslim journalists, most recently through becoming a sponsor of the NCTJ’s Journalism Diversity Fund (JDF).

The JDF enables the professional development and training of young journalists from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds through its bursary awards. Since its founding, the JDF has provided financial assistance to over 400 students undertaking NCTJ-accredited courses.

In acknowledgement of the significance of this development, Asif Aziz, our founder and Chair of Trustees, said: “I am thrilled that the Aziz Foundation is working with the NCTJ’s Journalism Diversity Fund to promote diversity and inclusion within the media industry. Specifically, this will lead to greater opportunities for budding journalists from British Muslim communities to add their voices to and enrich this key industry.”

Joanne Butcher, chief executive of the NCTJ, said: “We are excited to welcome the Aziz Foundation on board as a supporter of the Journalism Diversity Fund…The Aziz Foundation shares our values and we look forward to building a mutually beneficial relationship with their team and with other like-minded charities.”
