Badria Abdi

I am studying for a Master's in Evidence-Based Social Intervention at Oxford, building on experience gained during my undergraduate degree, where I worked with The Children's Literacy Charity delivering story-based interventions to early years children to improve their oracy skills.

This work sparked a deep interest in how carefully designed interventions can shape children's development beyond literacy. I became fascinated by curiosity - how it can be nurtured in young children, and how early support can have lasting effects on how they learn and engage with the world.

At Oxford, I will study the effectiveness of interventions designed to foster curiosity in children. I am also interested in how television programmes can spark curiosity, particularly for children from low-income backgrounds.
