Haseebah Ali

I am a socially engaged artist and arts educator with a background in printmaking and Illustration. My work centres around cultural themes and occasional political circumstances, with my core artistic aim is to create work that not only educates me but the audience by whom it is viewed.

Having obtained a BA in illustration in 2018, I have tried to draw on storytelling techniques as much as I can within my practise. I specifically enjoy working within educational and community settings such as libraries, warm hubs and schools to exchange knowledge and uplift voices, as well as shining a light on Muslims in the Arts.

I hope that I can strengthen my printmaking knowledge, leaning on Islamic Arts and craftsmanship, and transfer these skills to other people who have little access to resources. By creating a means to hand over artistic skills, the knowledge lives on, and the craft never dies.
