Kelly Tarawally

I’m a Black British revert currently undertaking a master's degree in cyber security.

I currently work in the Civil Service and I’m looking to pivot into the defence sector as it has become clearer that technology is the new frontline of warfare. I’m particularly interested in how technology is used to advance conflict, both in the physical domain and through information campaigns on social media which can be seen clearly in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Over the years I’ve focused my practical training on Cyber Law and Digital Forensics at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Estonia deepening my knowledge on subjects such as File system analysis, Data carving and capturing network traffic. I’ve also participated in the creation of a vulnerability scanning pipeline to assist penetration tests of websites with the University of Amsterdam and Google.org.

I’m truly thankful to the Aziz Foundation for this opportunity, and I hope to use it to support hijabis and niqabis in the UK workforce.
