I always saw PE as a playing field where fun was encouraged whilst learning life-long lessons on healthy active lifestyles. Instead my experiences showed me how a lack of understanding around Muslim communities harmed the experiences of female Muslims in PE.

Having worked in the sports development sector convinced me of the need to research the perceptions of Sports in Muslim communities and investigate how institutions are equipping educators with the means to provide an inclusive education.

The aim of this degree is to find ways we can shape the national and international sports and education industries so that Muslim females have an identity and are equally represented at all levels through a more inclusive education.
