Mumena is a Geography graduate from University College London, currently working as a researcher at Kew
Gardens. She is also an artist. She has a passion for addressing climate injustice, particularly in the Global South which is disproportionately affected by climate change. Mumena's dedication to climate science has led her to contribute to the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems, and as an active volunteer for the London Wildlife Trust she is involved in urban conservation practices, including tree restoration and the protection of urban wildlife habitats.

Mumena's art serves as a medium for activism, she specializes in lino printing with a focus on political themes. Her artwork has been displayed at local exhibitions and she has led workshops in collaboration with charities such as Restless Beings to teach others various techniques in lino printing. In order to advance her artistic skills Mumena is currently learning traditional calligraphy.
