MSC SOCIAL RESEARCH, GOLDSMITHS UNIVERSITY OF LONDON

My BA Sociology degree allowed me to conduct research that gave me a greater insight into how racialised and Muslim students have been casualties of the meritocratic and neoliberal dream.

Where higher education has been sold as a utopian space above racial inequality, in reality marginalised students are likely to suffer from prejudice, racism and microaggressions. For my masters in Social Research I want to continue to highlight the experiences of the marginalised and the ‘outsiders-within’.

To continue to understand the ways in which structures of power reproduce intersectionalsocial divisions in the lives of Muslims and racialised students who inhabit ‘spaces of whiteness’. I hope to be an advocate for marginalised communities in a policy-related role in the future.
