The Aziz Foundation is pleased to announce that it is offering an internship at the Financial Times for one exceptional scholar looking to pursue a career in Journalism.

Paid at the London Living Wage for three months, this internship will provide the successful candidate with an insight of working within a busy newsroom, as well as the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in pitching, drafting and publishing articles for the world’s leading global publication.

As part of its Scholarships Plus Programme, the Foundation works to provide internships for its scholars to help them gain the skills, knowledge and expertise required to secure employment after their postgraduate studies. By working with a number of organisations, the Foundation hopes to improve access and representation for BME communities in traditionally underrepresented sectors.

FT Deputy Managing Editor Abbie Scott commented:

“We are delighted to be partnering with the Aziz Foundation. We are looking forward to working with them to support British Muslims at the start of their careers in journalism.”

We’re grateful to the Financial Times for their support in this process and their dedication towards improving the opportunities available for underrepresented communities to pursue careers in journalism. We look forward to continuing our work together to ensure that newsrooms can be more diverse and representative.
