The Aziz Foundation is pleased to announce that it is offering two editorial fellowships at the Independent for exceptional British Muslims looking to pursue a career in journalism.

As part of its commitment to increase the representation of British Muslims within journalism, the Foundation works to provide internships to help British Muslims gain the skills, knowledge and expertise required to secure employment in the media industry.

Paid at the London Living Wage for six months, this opportunity will provide the successful candidate with experience in a busy national newsroom, reporting on a wide range of stories including politics, crime, health, science and environment. They will be  reporting in a range of different writing styles, including blog posts, breaking news, longer form news stories and features.

Furthermore, the postholder will be committed to working in the media and will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Muslim communities in the UK.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Independent for their support in creating a pipeline for British Muslims seeking to progress in the media industry, and eagerly anticipate continuing to work with the Independent in diversifying newsrooms.

The deadline to apply for this internship is 12pm (noon) on Monday 12th May. For more information on this role, please see our current internship pages and the job description.
