Preferred Partners in Focus: Royal Central school of speech and drama

Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is a specialist conservatoire that ensures ethical practices underpin all its activities. It boasts the highest number of postgraduate students in the European Drama School sector, with the proportion of Global Majority students rising year on year from 2019.

Royal Central's widening participation and EDI programmes are sector-leading. Financial support - such as those awarded through the Louis Mahoney Scholarships, Leverhulm Trust, and Dream on Bursaries - provide crucial assistance to Global Majority students.

The institution's EDI Team coordinate a whole culture approach to equity, arranging mandatory anti-racism and inclusive leadership training for students and staff. Royal Central's Graduate School Framework requires all graduates to leave with an understanding of inclusive practices and cultural awareness.

The School's Inclusion Committee organises events with UMMAH (Muslim staff-student Network) around Islamophobia Awareness Month each year.
