Preferred Partners in Focus: university of greenwich

University of Greenwich – ranked in the top five universities for social mobility in the UK – is well placed to increase access to postgraduate study for British Muslims. Committed to ensuring higher education is accessible to those from lower socio-economic groups, 57% of the University’s new students come from BAME backgrounds and half of its students come from some of the most deprived areas in the country.

The institution aims to eliminate the degree awarding gap by 2030, something enshrined in its institutional strategy. There are several initiatives and programmes in place to ensure this happens such as a discount offered to graduates to continue their studies at postgraduate level and the ‘Fast-Forward Scholarship’ which is designed to financially support high-performing students moving on to the postgraduate level.

Overall, the University is determined to create an inclusive culture and offers unconscious bias training for staff.
