Preferred Partners in Focus: university of hertfordshire

The University of Hertfordshire is one of a small pool of institutions holding the distinction of being awarded a Race Equality Charter Mark. It has been been named in the top 20 UK universities for social mobility by the Sutton Trust and it’s BAME student advocacy programme has already been awarded a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellent from Advance HE.

With a sizeable Muslim population on campus, the University is dedicated to tackling Islamophobia and has a zero tolerance policy towards discrimination and racism. Senior leadership are working closely with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion office to agree a definition of Islamophobia.

The institution aims to reduce its degree awarding gap by half within the next five years, including that between British Muslim students and those from non-faith backgrounds.
