The Aziz Foundation is very happy to announce that it will now be offering Master's scholarships at the University of Winchester, where talented British Muslims can receive a scholarship to undertake postgraduate study.

The institution has demonstrated that it is committed to extending widening participation to the postgraduate level, and creating an inclusive learning environment for British Muslim students. It takes efforts to enhance access extremely seriously, for example through programmes such as the Postgraduate Access Scholarships Scheme, open to a range of underprivileged communities.

The institution has carried out highly impactful research and published guidance on how to foster inclusivity and enhance the Muslim student experience. The outputs of its research have not only benefited the University, but have been taken up more widely amongst other stakeholders in the higher education sector. Furthermore, the University hosts a Muslim Chaplain and works in collaboration with Winchester Muslim Cultural Association to provide multi-cultural events and activities for staff, students and the local community.

Dr Zain Sardar, Programme Manager at the Aziz Foundation, welcomed the new partnership:

"I'm well aware of the cutting edge research that the University of Winchester has published on raising the quality of the Muslim student experience. The accompanying guidance it has produced is filled with illustrations of best practice for creating cultures and practices of inclusion, building belonging amongst British Muslim students. I am thrilled that the institution is now one of our partners, further attesting to its determination to challenge entrenched privilege and champion underserved communities."

The Foundation aims to collaborate closely  with the university in order to increase opportunities for academic progression for British Muslim communities.
