NCTJ DIPLOMA, NEWS ASSOCIATES
Whilst studying, both at sixth form and during my bachelor’s degree, I discovered my passion for storytelling and journalism.
Over the past two years working as a production assistant for Sky News, I have witnessed firsthand the evolving landscape of news circulation — how editorial decisions can shape which stories are amplified and which are sidelined. The escalating crisis in Gaza has only underscored the urgency of pursuing an NCTJ diploma, fueling my commitment to ensuring that marginalized voices are not just heard but centered within the newsroom.
My ambition as a journalist is to carve out spaces where British Muslims, especially, can experience not only representation but also recognition. By shining a light on underrepresented stories and perspectives, I hope to foster connection, understanding, and empowerment that can champion narratives that build bridges and inspire change within this industry.
